Mila hosts Ecohull Vessel Challenge hackathon using ML to cut shipping emissions

Mila is hosting the Ecohull Vessel Challenge 'Hack The High Seas' hackathon on October 26-27, co-organized with Maya HTT, Canada's Ocean Supercluster and CSL. Teams of 3-5 (or individuals matched to teams) will model ship hull fouling progression to optimize cleaning timing, directly reducing fuel overconsumption and the carbon footprint of maritime transport.
