A Show HN project: a fridge magnet shopping list built on M5Stack PaperMono (ESP32-S3 with e-ink touchscreen), syncing with a phone web app over Wi-Fi, works offline, 2,400 lines of C++ — fully vibe-coded with Claude Code, none hand-written.
The board also has BLE and LoRa, leaving room for more than shopping lists; the current firmware uses Wi-Fi only. Stuck on the fridge, it's family-friendly and — a first for the author's home-built projects — already used daily. Doubles as an experiment in whether Claude Code can build useful firmware for new hardware.
