Zero-code AI-built PLY turns skatepark design into a 120fps browser CAD game
LinusEkenstam · x · 2026-09-28
Linus Ekenstam started by offering to help his kid's skate teacher design a mini-ramp — and ended up building PLY, a browser-based tool that's part parametric CAD, part game, for designing entire skateparks.
- Grounded in reality: built on real ramp-building materials, sizes, and EU/US standards; fully parametric, grid-locked to material constraints, supporting banks, bowls, stairs, rails, and a custom component library
- Full BOM: cutlists, material optimization with off-cut reuse, live pricing via Home Depot and Beijer integration, and even screw counts/types accurate to ±2.5%
- Output & play: printable LEGO-style step-by-step PDF assembly guides, interactive 3D assembly views on phone/tablet, park fly-throughs — and you can skate the park in the browser at 120fps
- Zero code: the author wrote not a single line himself, crediting AI-assisted development with flipping software upside down; concrete ramps (volume, rebar, drainage, anti-crack lines) are next
The tool isn't publicly linkable yet; he'll share it when ready.
