Computer scientist David Patterson, citing a Xinhua road test in Amsterdam where XPENG and Tesla drove smoothly among canals, trams, bikes and pedestrians, argues China is not as far behind as Elon Musk thinks and could produce the majority of the world's autonomous cars within a year or two.
