Vite+ 1.0 ships: Evan You's VoidZero unifies web toolchain in one command, nears 2M weekly downloads

VoidZero released Vite+ 1.0, an MIT-licensed, framework-agnostic unified toolchain nearing 2 million weekly downloads. It's not a framework or package manager but a single entry point that ties Node.js runtime, package manager, and the frontend toolchain (linting, formatting, testing, bundling) into one tested stack with a single config file.
- Install via curl -fsSL https://vite.plus | bash; vp create starts a project, vp migrate converts existing ones — no requirement that the project already uses Vite
- The pitch: DIY toolchains drift apart — linter vs formatter conflicts, CI running different commands, repos lagging behind majors — forcing teams to maintain internal glue scripts
- Built by the team behind Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, and Oxc; the announcement also reveals VoidZero is joining Cloudflare
