OpenAI shipped Codex CLI rust-v0.158.0. New features: copy-on-select and right-click paste in the fullscreen TUI with Markdown-preserving transcripts; connecting to MCP servers requiring pre-registered OAuth client secrets via codex mcp add --oauth-client-secret; bearer-token-secured WebSocket connections to the exec server; transparent-background image generation/editing; terminal input approval enabled by default for elevated commands. Fixes cover Windows 10 sandbox paths, nested Linux writable roots, macOS path aliases causing extra approval prompts, approval retries on new user input, and Mermaid rendering of quoted labels.
