MongoDB launches Agent Skills to guide AI coding agents on schema and indexing

MongoDB introduced Agent Skills: while agents can write working MongoDB code, they still err on data modeling and index choices. Skills bundle decision guidance (schema design, indexing, query patterns), database access via the MongoDB MCP Server, and plugins combining both. It works out of the box in Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code, with install commands in the article, and teams can author custom skills to encode project conventions and recurring workflows.
