A developer used a single prompt in Claude Code to have Claude Opus 5.5 write 25,000 lines of JavaScript over about 3 days, fully remaking Pokémon Red — rendered pixel-by-pixel in code with no image files at all. Each of the 151 Pokémon is drawn at runtime from shape lists. The game includes all 224 maps, 8 gyms, Team Rocket, and the Elite Four, with map data from the pret/pokered disassembly, rewritten dialogue, and re-voiced original melodies in JavaScript. MissingNo. and the Mew glitch are rebuilt from original code mechanics. Bots tested the game by talking to every NPC and fighting thousands of battles. Playable in browser on desktop and mobile, open-sourced on GitHub.
