He fed 3,800 local songs plus 15 years of Spotify history to ChatGPT for weekly song recs

A Reddit user shared his AI-powered music discovery workflow: he keeps decades of curated music locally (3,800 songs) and doesn't stream. He exported a list of every local track, downloaded 15 years of his Spotify listening history, and uploaded both to ChatGPT. A scheduled task then delivers 10 song recommendations every Friday, and he rates each one so the model keeps refining his taste profile. Three of the first ten recommendations made it into his playlist — a better hit rate than Spotify's Discover Weekly. He notes this works far better than just naming ten favorite artists.
