A developer released Slopus, a free open-source desktop app that runs AI video generation on your own GPU end-to-end, no cloud rendering or subscription.
- Shot-by-shot scenes: board layout with reference images/clips for characters, products and places; scene types include first & last frame, Animate, Pose, character replace, Extend and Bridge
- Real timeline editing: trim, effects (sharpen, blur, color correction, vignette, LUTs), MP4 export; preview and export run on GPU
- Image projects: compose from objects and text on a canvas, refine, export JPG/PNG
- Built-in agent that edits the project with undoable changes
Generation uses a native library with no Python or ComfyUI dependency. Caveats: Alpha, Windows-only, 24GB+ VRAM recommended; weights downloaded in-app. v0.2.0 adds image projects and a rebuilt native UI. GitHub: bitti-ai/slopus.
