One prompt, 30 hours: Opus 5.5 builds a working computer from 277k logic gates, OS and games included
mattshumer_ · x · 2026-09-28
Matt Shumer gave Opus 5.5 a single prompt: build a working computer from scratch, starting from individual logic gates. Running autonomously for 30 hours in ultracode mode, the model delivered 277k logic gates in JS, a real CPU, memory, an assembler, a tiny OS, and games that actually run on those gates — not a JavaScript mockup. The whole machine is visualized in 3D, letting you zoom from the game down through chips into flowing signals.
