AI researchers push back on field-exodus anxiety: best time in recent history

MIT researcher DimitrisPapail calls it ridiculous that people think they should leave AI research because end-to-end research automation is coming: in terms of tools, open problems, and the ability to attack them, this is by far the best time in recent history to do AI research.
ShahabBakht adds that human researchers still have the best taste for questions — research taste is the last thing one develops, deeply domain-specific, and long-horizon research succeeds only with it.
