Berkeley's TRACE robots trace monochrome data center cables via bidirectional tracing

UC Berkeley's AUTOLab presents TRACE at IROS 2026, tackling data center cable management when all cables look identical. TRACE combines bidirectional cable tracing with interactive perception: the robot actively tugs and touches cables to infer connectivity that passive vision can't resolve, enabling manipulation of monochrome cable bundles.
