Qwen-Image-2.5 2x faster with 4-step LoRA in a low-VRAM ComfyUI workflow — hands-on test
cgpixel23 · reddit · 2026-09-27
A hands-on test of Qwen-Image-2.1 in ComfyUI with a custom low-VRAM workflow combining the INT8 ConvRot model, ComfyUI Kitchen Attention, and a 4-step LoRA.
Key findings:
- The 4-step LoRA roughly doubles generation speed while keeping usable quality
- Image editing is the standout: style changes, character consistency, clothing swaps and character sheets work well, sometimes rivaling Flux 2 Klein while being faster
- Pure text-to-image is weaker: skin quality, hand anatomy, fine textures and text rendering need work
Verdict: Qwen-Image-2.1 is far more compelling as an editing model than a pure generator. Full workflow files (Google Drive / Civitai) and a video tutorial are included.
