Opus-coded betta fish desktop wallpaper chases your cursor, open-sourced as Deskworlds
chaseleantj · x · 2026-09-27
A developer asked Claude Opus to build an ultra-realistic betta fish for their Mac wallpaper — it now lives on the desktop and follows the cursor.
The project is open-sourced as deskworlds (292 stars on GitHub): three live 3D underwater scenes (Riverbed with a schooling fish, Coral Reef, and Betta), rendered in real time with Three.js and WebGL2, running fully locally with no account or internet needed. Wallpaper mode requires macOS 13+; all scenes also run in a browser.
