Responding to criticism of his TED talk Why AI isn't going to become conscious, Anil Seth says he has deep respect for colleagues in philosophy, neuroscience and AI who rationally argue AI consciousness is possible. "I still think they're wrong. But the issue is so important that it is a disservice to dismiss either side as deluded." He frames AI consciousness as a serious scientific debate rather than a camp war.
