Creator Hyacinth fed her year-old Pixel Shanghai short film to Claude Opus 5.5, which one-shot built a playable web game, "Pixel Shanghai: Lane Radio," where players collect 42 memories of the city.
- Scenes reuse pixel art from the original film; characters and maps were generated by Opus via Nano Banana Pro
- Music and sound effects are synthesized in real time in the browser
- The update adds full Shanghainese voiceover, 8-bit versions of classic Shanghai songs, bilingual subtitles, and more story easter eggs
- Demo is live, playable in-browser in 20-30 minutes
She reflects that future creators will be "naturally cross-medium" and plans to keep developing the project.
