DHH ported the Omarchy screensaver engine (ttfx) from Rust to x86-64 assembler, hitting up to 17x speedups — with the translation done in one shot by Opus 5.5. His quip: "We keep drilling until the agentic drill bit hits bedrock!"
Commentators called it a textbook example of an agent completing a large migration in one pass with a major performance payoff, the latest in DHH's series of Claude-agent rewrite demos.
