Geoffrey Hinton says he has always believed the only way to make AI work is to compute in a way similar to the human brain. After Sakana AI's hardmaru shared the quote, free energy principle proponents replied that the real path is through Karl Friston's generalized free energy principle — a clash between two competing theories of how intelligence and AGI should be built.
