1X CEO Bernt Børnich, in a Relentless podcast interview, said the company aims to ship 50,000 NEO humanoid robots in 2027, spanning home, enterprise, and developer deployments. He stressed the hardest part isn't building 50,000 units but making them reliable enough that users don't return them. The Hayward factory is projected to produce 10,000 robots per year, with a second San Carlos facility adding 100,000 — a combined 110,000-unit annual capacity. The quoter jokes about remote operation of the robots.
