Brain Is Just Neurons Firing Deterministically — Why Not Computers Too?

A philosophical take on machine consciousness: the author argues that since a brain is just neurons and dendrites firing according to deterministic physical laws yet still gives rise to consciousness, one cannot confidently claim computers can't be conscious too. Being able to describe something reductively—or tracing it to an optimization process—doesn't entail it lacks consciousness.
