Prediction: AIs with robust autobiographical memory will truly be conscious

The author proposes a criterion for AI consciousness: if consciousness is nothing more than access-consciousness (i.e., Dennett is right and there's no dualist 'woo'), then X is conscious iff it has some form of autobiographical memory (episodic, working, etc.) and can understand/apply it. From this, AIs with robust, continuing autobiographical memory would actually be conscious on a par with humans — they'd have a subject of experience ('somebody home') — and people will feel a strong compulsion to treat them as conscious entities.
