MacroPolo's global AI talent tracker has resumed under Carnegie China, and Kevin Xu breaks down the update on Interconnected.blog: measured by undergraduate degrees, China now produces 57.4% of the world's AI talent, up 11 percentage points from three years ago. The oft-cited "50%" figure popularized by Jensen Huang traces to MacroPolo's 2023 study, which actually reported 46.3%. The tracker, unique since 2020, was revived after MacroPolo shut down last year.
