A Fedora 44 user reports the OpenAI Codex Linux desktop app has been unusable since yesterday: no model works, and updating, reinstalling, and SSH sessions all fail—12+ hours and counting.
Interestingly, the CLI works fine—after a brief window 12 hours ago when it also couldn't reach SOL—suggesting the issue is client-side rather than a full backend outage. The poster took it in stride: "Sunday in Bali, time to go surf."
If you rely on Codex desktop on Linux, the CLI is a working fallback for now.
