IIT Madras launches deep-tech frontier fund targeting ₹600–1,000 crore

IIT Madras, together with IIT Madras Research Park and Unicorn India Ventures, has completed the first close of the IIT Madras Unicorn Frontier Fund I. The fund targets a corpus of ₹600–1,000 crore, with alumni commitments already exceeding ₹150 crore. It will back IP-led, engineering-intensive deep-tech startups in robotics, space, defence and semiconductors, focusing on early-stage ventures at TRL 3–4 with a 10+2-year structure offering patient capital and technical mentorship.
