Elicit's new AI-era workflow: 10-minute pre-work chats replace heavy project management

VivaLaPanda of Elicit shares the team's adapted workflow now that AI agents make building fast: before starting any feature, hold a 10-30 minute pre-work chat with at least one coworker to align on the plan, build quickly with agents, and review with full context.
The approach is lighter than maintaining heavyweight Linear processes while avoiding the chaos of PRs flung at reviewers at random. Meeting time costs more on paper, but engineers now need far less 'isolated focus time' to write code, making the tradeoff worthwhile to ensure:
- people work on the right problems
- problems are solved the right way
- there's a bottleneck against shipping features without due consideration
- knowledge spreads across the team
