A thread on how the Quail project is built with agents:
- The team deliberately does not want agents writing all code from scratch; they build on the community's battle-tested work.
- They stress crediting the people behind foundational infrastructure and algorithms (vLLM, Qwen, Modal, Snowflake, NVIDIA, etc.), otherwise there is no incentive for foundational research.
The quoted post adds: coding agents do not eliminate the need for decades of work-sharing, painstaking discovery, and the expensive human systems that support them — quite the opposite.
