David Holz lays out a back-of-envelope extrapolation: if off-world industrial production doubles every 12 months starting from a seed in 2030, humanity reaches Kardashev I by 2064 and Kardashev II by 2098. Even at a 24-month doubling time, the milestones still land at 2096 and 2165.
