Tech insiders privately concede AI may 'kill billions' while the public assumes life goes on

An industry insider relays that almost no one in tech who seriously thinks about AI believes things will stay normal: in regular debates, counterparts eventually concede AI will "massively disrupt society and possibly kill billions — just not literally everyone."
His message to ordinary people: if you assume your life will continue as usual as this technology improves, understand that basically nobody in the AI industry believes that.
