Default one-shot AI animations are slop: too fast, no focus, no choreography
DavidKPiano · x · 2026-09-27
Reacting to jlongster's observation that one-shot animations made with Opus 5.5 mostly suck, David Wells (DavidKPiano) breaks down why the default output is "impressive slop": pacing is way too fast, effects are overused, movement lacks cohesion, there's no focal point, easing is generic, and there's no consistent choreography.
His takeaway: good animation explains something — motion needs intent. Less is more; default AI output is just meaningless eye candy.
