OpenRouter unveiled typesafe/jev-router, a cache-aware model router powered by Jev that picks the best model and reasoning effort per request to balance quality, speed, and cost. Developer theo then spent $1,000 overnight testing it: on DeepSWE the router at low effort roughly matched GPT-6 Astra, but at slightly higher cost and nearly 5x the runtime. Takeaway: solid quality floor, latency is the current weak spot.
