Anthropic investor Joe Lonsdale blasts AI safety lobbying as regulatory capture
mark_k · x · 2026-09-26
Joe Lonsdale, Palantir co-founder and Anthropic investor, is calling out the "AI safety playbook": he says people close to Anthropic and OpenAI fund outside groups pushing tougher AI regulation, warning "we don't want an oligopoly that controls all of our policy here with the government."
The poster's take: AI safety is a real issue, but the companies leading the race shouldn't turn fear of AI into rules that shield them from competition.
