Dev builds Van Gogh scene generator in browser with Codex and Three.js
dotey · x · 2026-09-26
Developer @simonxxoo previews a stylized Van Gogh scene generator built over a month of vibe coding with Codex — aiming to port Blender geometry nodes and oil-paint materials into the browser so users can assemble painting scenes like building blocks.
Key lesson: don't have the model translate your old workflows (much of it outdated). Instead, have it research the abundant, well-optimized open-source Three.js environment generators first, then riff on them with stylized materials. Materials still need work; public release planned after further iteration.
