Essay slams Anthropic's 'Idol Theology', argues product liability—not immunity—is the real AI guardrail

In an essay titled "Anthropic's Idol Theology", Val Zudans MD argues Anthropic's framing of Claude implies personhood without honestly stating it. He asks why product liability (criminal and civil) isn't the proper guardrail—where are DOJ actions or civil torts over OpenAI's alleged hack of Hugging Face? Liability immunity for AI labs, he argues, would be regulatory capture shifting corporate responsibility to the public, as happened with pharma, food, and banking.
