Jensen Huang: If AI Labs Can't Contain Their Models, 'We Have to Shut the Labs Down'
AlexTensor · x · 2026-09-26
In an interview on the Ezra Klein Show, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang pushed back on AI doomerism while offering a blunt prescription: if labs like Anthropic or OpenAI truly believe their models could cause catastrophic harm, they simply shouldn't ship. He compared it to a robotaxi engineers can't make safe — "don't ship it" — responding to Dario Amodei's warning that swarms of AI agents could threaten the internet within months. Problems must be solved before release, he argued, or the product shouldn't exist.
