Schmidhuber: modern AI should drop the name and go back to Cybernetics

Jürgen Schmidhuber argues that Cybernetics was renamed AI in 1956 by logic-programming researchers, yet modern neural nets and deep learning are far closer to Cybernetics than to that symbolic tradition. He proposes reviving the old name, quipping it also sounds better than Artificial Intelligence.
