Oracle disclosed that founder, Chair and CTO Larry Ellison has pledged 413 million $ORCL shares — about $57.6 billion — as collateral for personal term loans funding his outside business ventures.
That's more than 8x the 50 million shares Ellison had previously been allowed to sell under a trading plan he recently cancelled without selling any shares.
Oracle says the shares are not in margin accounts or hedging his exposure, and its Governance Committee believes the arrangement poses no material risk to Oracle or shareholders.
