Ethan Mollick had Claude Opus 5.5 generate a video explaining recursion with a single prompt — each explanation in a radically different video style, self-referential and fast-moving — resulting in nine genre shifts from one prompt.
How it works:
- Every scene is drawn in React and SVG
- Music and sound effects are synthesized in Python
- The only non-code assets are a few hundred pre-generated textures (film grain, bokeh) to speed up rendering, plus open-source fonts
It's a "video-as-code" generation paradigm: instead of a video model, the model writes programs that render every frame.
