Scaling determinism: once you build LLMs, you stumble into AGI
Soareverix · x · 2026-09-26
- Soareverix responds to the 'AI progress is individual-driven' take, arguing you stumble into RSI/AGI as soon as you do LLMs: GPT-3, GPT-4, Opus 3, and Fable were all huge jumps, and past GPT-3.5 the direction becomes clear.
- Without belief in ASI there'd be less early focus on coding and internal models (maybe 2x gaps between model milestones), but capability jumps from scaling would keep surprising people, pushing everyone toward recursive self-improvement — with less focus on long-term alignment or mechinterp.
