Professor Builds a Drivable 3D Simulation of His Town With AI, Sparks Campus Buzz
AndyMasley · x · 2026-09-26
Andy Masley built an interactive 3D driving simulation of Webster, Massachusetts using AI: a 3D canvas lets you drive the town's real road network with arrow keys or touch, with six starting points covering Main Street, Webster Lake roads, Memorial Beach and more, plus live text readouts of road, speed and turn choices.
In replies, professor ryancbriggs says he's tempted to make one for his own university town, and reveals a basic computer-use demo left a grad student 'kind of lost her mind.' Masley notes most people don't grasp what AI can do now — a quick capability demo goes a long way.
