A self-described non-programmer shipped Boxxy (boxxy.io), a polished Sokoban clone built entirely through conversational iterations with ChatGPT in a browser over two months, costing about £50 (ChatGPT Pro subscription plus a domain).
- No Claude, no background AI agents — just requests, answers, and iterations
- Progression: level rendering, character/box movement, win detection, then level packs, aesthetics, and finally user accounts and server-side features
- All original levels were hand-designed without generative AI; he calls level design the hardest part
- Deliberately avoided third-party plugins and services (only Cloudflare for the domain) to minimize future maintenance
He says it's the first time his on-and-off 30-year coding journey produced something finished.
