Codex CLI and Desktop hit mass 401 errors, re-auth fails, suspected server-side auth issue

OpenAI's Codex CLI (0.155.1) and Codex Desktop suddenly started returning 401 Unauthorized after working normally earlier the same day. The error points at the ChatGPT backend endpoint /backend-api/codex/responses with an "Incorrect API key provided" message. Logging out and back in on both clients does not resolve the failure, suggesting a server-side auth-routing or session issue rather than local credentials. The public OpenAI status page still showed green at the time.
