A film by pioneering ML/music duo Holly Herndon and Mat Dryhurst is on view in the group show "Simulacres" at Les Magasins Généraux in Pantin, Paris, closing Sunday, September 27. Free entry.
An early artistic use of AI image generators, the work draws on Herndon's recorded account of the week-long coma she fell into after the birth of her child — harnessing the models' dreamlike qualities to reconstruct the reverie, with her narration serving as both source material and voiceover.
