New arXiv draft: flash-tier LLM Jev makes correlated mistakes, cascading yields little
srchvrs · x · 2026-09-26
A new arXiv draft from Delip Rao examines the error patterns of "Jev", a flash-tier (fast and cheap) LLM: while fast and cheap, it makes the same correlated mistakes as other flash-tier LLMs. The consequence: you don't gain much by cascading Jev's "low confidence" outcomes to a stronger LLM. A joking reply suggests researchers are missing the opportunity to use "ask Jev" in paper titles, riffing on "Ask Jeeves".
