How the 134KB realtime city demo was made: Opus builds its own tiny asset tools
gandamu_ml · x · 2026-09-26
Developer @gandamuml answers questions about their 134KB realtime 3D city demo ("grand theft code") generated with Opus 5.5: the first attempt looked decent but lacked detail, so they asked the model to add fire escapes and other details, plus more vehicle detail.
The unusual trick: they had Opus create its own asset-generation tools, designed with small file size in mind — which explains the 134KB footprint. The person asking marveled that their own Opus 5.5 games looked nothing like this. The author quips that much of it is RL code and humans are just the bootstrap.
