PixVerse opens R2 real-time world model: one base model, distilled straight to real-time

PixVerse has opened up its R2 real-time world model, letting users explore worlds built by others in the R2 Gallery (sorted into Games, Stories, Characters and Live).
- Characters & context: characters stay in role as you talk to them, and the model carries context forward so the world keeps building on what you've done.
- Architecture: most real-time video models go through chains of training stages, model-type conversions and a separate teacher before distillation — each handoff risks quality and long-horizon stability. R2 cuts it to two steps: pretrain one foundation model scaling across data, modalities, tasks, control inputs and longer horizons, then distill that same model directly into the real-time version.
- The framing is "accelerate, don't relearn" — base model gains carry more directly into the playable product.
- It's free to try.
