Responding to @willdepue's "rare AI-optimist Leo Gao sighting," researcher Leo Gao says he rejects binary optimistic/pessimist framing: AI will obviously turbocharge productivity short term and may help solve aging long term—none of which conflicts with it being likely to kill everyone.
