Another Google DeepMind researcher quits, calls building superintelligence 'inherently irresponsible'

Google DeepMind researcher Robert O'Callahan has resigned, saying AI's "current rate of change is far too high" and that building superintelligent AI soon is "inherently irresponsible." He worked on chip design tools that made AI cheaper and faster — work he can no longer justify — and says many colleagues share his concerns but rarely speak out.
