AI can write your game's code, but it can't make your game fun, dev argues

A Reddit developer vents about AI-assisted game development: many people run one prompt, dump the output, and post it as a finished game — resulting in titles that scream AI, play terribly, or aren't even playable behind the screenshots.
The core argument: AI can write your code, but it can't tell you whether your game is fun. The least developers can do is playtest their own games repeatedly, identify what's boring or broken, fix it, and iterate.
The author sees wasted potential — an amateur could genuinely build a good game in weeks or a couple of months with AI, yet even that minimal effort seems too much to ask.
