NVIDIA open-sources MONAI Physio: cardiac and respiratory digital twins from medical images
Paimaamu · x · 2026-09-25
NVIDIA Health introduced MONAI Physio at MICCAI 2026, an open-source Project MONAI toolkit that turns 3D/4D medical images into personalized cardiac and respiratory digital twins. It extracts anatomic models from a subject's scan, then uses AI surrogates to estimate physiological motion, with plans to extend to electrophysiology, blood flow, and organ perfusion. The repo ships methods, workflows, tutorials, and CLI tools for building and finetuning these surrogates, rendering anatomic models with physiological motion in Omniverse for simulation, visualization, and reproducible research.
